Job Title: Board Operator (Plant Operator III)

Worksite: Onsite

• Orla, TX
• Man Camps available for stays  

Duration : 6-month contract to hire

Shift/Hours :

• Rotations begin every other Wednesday
• 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
• Alternating 6 am - 6 pm & 6 pm - 6 am

Start Date : Monday, 9/30/2026

Day-to-Day:

A top employer in the natural gas processing industry is looking for a Board Operator / DCS Operator / Console Operator to join their team. This individual will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of a natural gas processing facility, monitoring plant operations from the control room, troubleshooting process upsets, and ensuring production targets and product specifications are met. The ideal candidate will have experience operating cryogenic gas processing systems, interpreting plant data through DCS and SCADA platforms, and responding to abnormal operating conditions. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting abilities, clear communication with maintenance and operations personnel, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment.

Some responsibilities of the Board Operator will include but are not limited to:

• Monitor and control plant operations through DCS systems
• Review process parameters, tank levels, pressures, temperatures, and flow rates
• Troubleshoot operational issues and respond to abnormal plant conditions
• Participate in shift turnover meetings and communicate outstanding action items
• Attend daily maintenance meetings and coordinate operational support for repairs
• Generate operating reports and communicate plant status updates
• Monitor cryogenic processing equipment, refrigeration systems, stabilizers, and treating systems
• Coordinate with field personnel regarding compressor and process operations
• Utilize SCADA systems to monitor field conditions and plant performance
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures

Must Have/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of oil & gas industry experience
• 5+ years of plant operations experience
• Experience operating natural gas processing or cryogenic facilities
• Experience working with DCS control systems
• Experience using SCADA systems for operational monitoring
• Knowledge of cryogenic processing systems
• Experience working with amine treating systems
• Experience operating stabilizer systems
• Experience with refrigeration systems
• Strong troubleshooting and operational problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
